Process on Optimizing your Site through Keywords
by: Kristine Joy Francisco

There are a lot of things to analyze on your site before you start optimizing your site. Such things are your site overview, nature of business, home page, site dimension and number of pages, product/services categories, page rank and indexed pages for major search engines, link popularity, and a lot more. After that you will go to your onpage and offpage optimization.

Analyze your site and think of a generic word that best fits for your web site. Choosing the right keywords is a strategy for better search engine positioning http://www.searchengines.com/placement.html. Analyze your business carefully and think of all the words that relate to your company or product. Most techniques to improve your search engine rankings have one thing in common -- Keywords. Choosing appropriate keywords is very important. Keywords are what lead search engine users to your site.

That word will act as your major keyword for your site. Then find a keyword tool that will help you generate keywords for your site. There are lots of keyword tools like http://inventory.overture.com. Type in the major keyword that you had thought of and it’ll list all related keywords that you can use. On the tool you’ll see the number of counts your keyword has been searched. Person new on search engine optimization might use the keyword with a lot of counts (I, sure did that before) immediately but SEO experts says that Do NOT use it for a start as keyword searched as many times will just give you a lot of competition and give your site less probability in regards to your visitors. So it is best to start with keywords with a little rivalry. Get some traffic with those keywords and eventually focus on the major keywords.

Examine those sites ranked from 1-10 on the keywords you chose to use in optimizing your site. Check everything about the site that is ranked highly on the search engine. Its URL, see if it is the top level webpage or it is the index page of the site as if it is not you can have a great chance to improve your index page for the target keyword and have a better placement in the SERP’s. Sites page rank.

Page rank is Google’s way of giving specific value to how popular your website is. It is based on the number of links you have pointing to your website. Then check their page source, see if their actually optimizing their site for some onpage optimization factors. Factors such as title tag, check if they use the keyword on their title tag which is one of the main reasons why a site is rank well on search engine. Header tags are used to separate topics and range from h1 being very large and bold and h6 which is very small and bold, it should contain your most important keyword or keyword phrases to assist you in ranking higher on Search Engines. Image alt tags are words that will be displayed in place of your image through an older browser or when your visitors have their image turned off, insert a readable keyword phrase within the alt tags of your image and it’ll help you on your rankings. And on the main content if they use the keyword on the beginning and at the end of the page, also whether or not they’ve bolded, underlined, or italicized the keywords on that page. By continuing this process on other keywords that you’ve chose you will have an improved ranking on SERPs.

Affiliate Programs – The Advantages of Being an Affiliate
by: Francois du Toit

Affiliate programs are becoming more and more popular as a fast-track way to start an internet business. These programs can offer huge advantages for affiliates, especially when they offer online training, support and marketing tools. There is a lot of money to be made if you join the right program.

I am a strong believer in the value of affiliate programs and believe that the best way to start an internet business is to become an affiliate of another program or to join a network marketing company. Why? To learn as much as possible from your sponsor(s) and make use of all the free advice and tips you will receive from them.

When you are eventually ready to start your own business you will already have a lot of experience and knowledge (that you obtained for free!) that will give you a huge advantage and save you a lot of money and time.

By the way, there are many very successful internet marketers that earn all of their money through affiliate programs and network marketing programs.

If you find a great affiliate program where you can make a lot of money and you decide to stay with the company instead of starting your own new business then good for you! If on the other hand you want to start a new business of your own then you would have at least learned a lot from the affiliate program, and hopefully made some money as well in the process.

The biggest mistake people make is to jump all the time from the one affiliate program to the other without taking the time to learn and understand the program and system. There are many programs on the internet. If you are going to leave what you are busy with every time you think you have discovered a better program then you will never learn anything.

Take your time to learn and be patient. I can assure you that you will not become an overnight millionaire following any affiliate program. Like any other business it takes time to build a successful affiliate business, even with the support and training you may receive.

I tend to look at things very logically. If something does not make sense to me I rather avoid it.

Consider the following:

You develop a great product that you want to sell for $10 on your website. It might have cost you thousands of dollars to develop and many many months of hard work with no income while you were developing your product. You are finally ready to launch your product. Since you are only one person with one website you realize the need to establish an affiliate program where you can have hundreds of affiliates promote your company and get thousands of people to buy from you. In order to get affiliates interested you must pay them between 20% and 50% of your sales price or gross profit.

I don't know about you but the above scenario looks like a lot of very hard work without any guarantee of success. The thought of it certainly does not get me excited.

Now consider the following - You join the above company as an affiliate and earn say 50% commission on all sales. You do not need to buy the product and have no investment in the company. You can start to sell the product from the 1st day you become an affiliate and make a lot of money. In fact, the company will make 50% and you will make 50%. You have no risk and can walk away from the program anytime you wish. What a pleasure! This is what I like the most from affiliate programs.

Remember that not all affiliate programs are good. Many of them only offer products that you would not want to give away for free to your mother-in-law. Furthermore, the support program and training offered is not always top quality.

I do not know about you but I cannot promote any product or service that I do not understand or do not believe in. You should always be able to sell the product to yourself. If you would not buy the product because you do not believe in it then please do not promote it to other people as the best product out there. You will sleep a lot better at night!

Remember that ultimately it is up to you to make a success of the program.

To your success !

Get Your Website to Profit With the Best Affiliate Programs Available
by Steven Gerber

The Internet is one of the most frequently used tools for communication today. There are over millions of people who log on to the Internet every single day. Besides, with the benefits that the Internet gives, who would not want to be a part of this information superhighway.

With the Internet, you can communicate with your family and friends through emails and instant messengers, you can purchase goods and services without leaving your own home, and the Internet is one of the most promising income generating tools that everyone can use today.

In the past, you needed products or services in order to make money through the Internet. Today however, you can make money through the Internet by using affiliate programs. This program will allow you to make a substantial amount of money out of your website and is a very good home business that you would want to get in to.

First of all, you need to know what an affiliate program is and how it works in order to fully understand how you can make some money out of it. Affiliate programs is like a joint venture where you or your website becomes a partner with another website that have already developed a product or service that they are already selling in the Internet. As a partner, your job is to direct the visitors of your website to your partner website and hope that they will purchase the products or services being offered. Your website will be like the company's marketing arm, among several.

The company you plan on being affiliated to will be providing all the necessary tools that you need in order to start the affiliate program. They will be providing the links, and some companies will provide free e-books on how you can effectively earn from affiliate programs.

The best way to profit from your website through affiliate programs is by promoting your website in the Internet. The key to success in affiliate programs is targeted traffic. This is why you should think of a product or service that you would want to promote and also a product or service that you are knowledgeable about. Think about your hobby. For example, if you like fixing cars, you want an affiliate program that promotes cars, or car parts.

In your website, you will then discuss about your hobby. Make some articles and post it in article publishing websites and also in your own site. Since your affiliate program is selling cars or car parts or even car accessories, the traffic you generate in your website will have a greater chance of clicking the link or banner of your affiliate website and buy from that website. You will then earn a commission out of the sold product.

As you can see, it is very simple to earn money from affiliate programs. However, when you are just starting out in the business of affiliate programs, you have to work hard to establish your reputation as an expert in the product or service you are promoting. The best way to do this is publish your articles about a particular product frequently. This will build your reputation in the Internet and soon, you will get that targeted traffic you have been always wanting. It is also a good idea to update your website once in a while (once a week) with tips and tricks on a particular product.

The best thing about affiliate programs is that you do not have to be in front of your computer 24 hours a day 7 days a week. All you need is a few minutes of checking up in your website and also check out your earnings in your affiliate programs. Always remember to update your website frequently in order to keep your readers and keep them buying from your affiliate website.

I learned my lesson a few years ago!!

I learned my lesson a few years ago about passing on email petitions and the like. So now whenever I receive one like the one I’m copying below I check this website called Truth of Fiction before I do anything else. If I can’t find the “erumor” on their website, I don’t pass it on.

This one though was different, it was able to locate it on the Truth of Fiction website. Also I had a friend who died from breast cancer in 2005 and with the news about John Edwards' wife, I thought that this deserved more than just a curisory glance.

The email asks that you Sign a Petition to get a bill passed in Congress…a Mastectomy Hospital Bill. It goes on to explain what a mastectomy is…as if you didn’t already know. But go on and read it for yourself. I hope that you decide to sign the petition.

A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue. If you know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards. Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.

Mastectomy Bill in Congress
It takes 2 seconds to do this and is very important...please take the time and do it really quick!

Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill – Important legislation for all women.

Please send this to everyone in your address book. If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times. If you're receiving this, it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to go to vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same.

There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minim um 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.

Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support. Last year over half the House signed on.

PLEASE!! Sign the Petition. You need not give more than your name and zip code.

This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your friends and family and, on behalf of all women, THANKS.

RSS and Some things Internet

What’s all the fuss about RSS? If like me you have no idea what it is or how to use it, here’s your chance to get up to speed. RSS is going to be an important way for you to BOTH increase first-time traffic AND to build repeat traffic.

Before reading the rest of this article, please visit

There's a lots of information on the internet about RSS. Again if you’re like me its all Greek to me. This site is all you.

And even more importantly it outlines the best approach for MOST small businesses. You can understand this site even if you have never understood anything else you may have read about RSS.

So start here

RSS It! is the only product in the world that converts a Web site into an RSS feed. Only Site Build It! "site-blogs." More than merely unique, Site Build It! uses RSS as a powerful new way to distribute your Web site to the world, and requires NO heavy additional "dedicated blog commitment."

And, since Site Build It! sites are already thriving and successful, this is like getting a "free double" in high horsepower.

RSS It! creates your .xml RSS file and then modifies it every time you add or change a Web page or insert a non-Web page item into your feed.

It also automatically pings every significant RSS directory/engine. Together with the ability to add conventional dedicated blogging, here's the bottom line...

RSS It! leverages the reach of every SBI! site by adding an entirely new method of distribution, RSS, without costing you additional time and energy or tech know-how.

And now, good news!

Last week, when SiteSell announced its launch, the question on everyone's mind, of course, was...

How much was this powerful package going to cost?

Find another small business Web host that provides even half of what SBI! provides, just half, and I'll eat my hat on a Web cam for your viewing pleasure.

Start your "value due diligence" by comparing here...

Compare

By the way, SiteSell hates to even use "hosting" to describe what they do because it's all the software that is woven into the hosting that helps SBI! owners succeed. They only "do" the hosting part, which is top-notch, so that they can depend on their software hooking into a certain constant hosting setup.

That's why you can't buy the SBI! software separately at any other Web host. They do not "private label." Only SiteSell offers SBI! because only THEY created and developed it. I tend to look at it this way...

You get free hosting, thousands of dollars of software for a super-small
fraction of its true value.

Try to find that list of features at any price. You WILL find lots of noisy promises and great copy.

SiteSell points that out...

Don't be swayed. Insist upon what SBI! offers. You simply won't find it anywhere else.

Naturally, the most important factor to keep in mind is PROOF of a track record of SUCCESS. Even the overwhelming edge in features does not mean much without proof of success. So skip everyone's sales pitches.

Insist upon seeing proof of success like this...

Only Site Build It! delivers proof like this.

Because only they can.

My Favorite Store...the Home Depot

I've developed a love of gardening. Its only natural since my grandmother was a keen gardener and my Mom won a prize for the best yard on her block when she lived in New York. Now she is trying to duplicate that in Florida. And now its my turn. I got the bug about 4 years ago. I'm a late bloomer...no pun intended.

Follow the progression, Jamaica, West Indies, Queens, New York, Lakeland Florida and to me, Fort Worth, Texas.

Saturday I went to the Home Depot...which could hands down be my FAVORITE store. The location I went to was PACKED. It seemed as though everyone here in North Texas had the same thought...I must go to the Home Depot!!! They had SO much gardening products and supplies in stock that they had to leave some of the pallets of soil and such in the parking lot. And of course they had flowers and trees out.

Any, I got 10 bags of "sure stay" mulch. I wanted to get some top soil too, but that was all that would fit in my Vibe without putting stuff onto the seats.

I spent nearly 4 hours pulling weeds and topping off the mulch on my existing flower beds. Talk about being in PAIN! I was introduced to muscles I didn't KNOW I had!

But with all that...I still LOVE spring!!
